Vall d’Hebron Spine Research Unit (VHSRU) is a growing multidisciplinary group of professionals devoted to the study of complex spinal disorders. VHSRU is formed by 5 surgeons and 4 researchers organized in 4 different research lines: Pediatric and Adolescent Spinal Deformity, Adult Spinal Deformity, Spinal Cord Injuries in Trauma, Tumors and Degenerative Conditions and Cell therapy techniques in spinal surgery. VHSRU mission and main objective is to improve the treatment (mainly surgical), health care and, therefore, the quality of life of patients affected by spinal pathologies. During 2022, we have published 18 new manuscripts, been awarded with three new competitive research grants; two of them are funded by the Scoliosis Research Society (SRS) and one is funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation of the Spanish Government (Carlos III Institute). We have been involved as coordinator or collaborator in 41 funded research projects (14 competitive and 27 noncompetitive).
