This year we expanded our research in transplant immunology and glomerular diseases by having been awarded with new national and European grants. In transplantation, we will investigate a common pan-transcriptional signature in peripheral blood across different solid organ transplants undergoing acute graft rejection. In new RCT, we will assess the impact of different immunosuppression withdrawal strategies on anti-HLA alloimmune sensitization after graft loss. Also, two new studies will focus on the immune biology of CMV and BK virus. Thanks to a new grant, we will carry on our researc on the biological bases of autoreactive vasculitis. Another important research area of our group is the study of the molecular basis of AKI driven by different insults, a project that is endorsed by a European grant. The group is progressively growing and unconditionally committed to improve the quality of life of patients suffering from different kidney diseases.
