CRIPS is a research group focusing on severe acute respiratory infections and sepsis. The objective is to develop projects on clinical and translational research in hospital-acquired pneumonia, community-acquired pneumonia, and severe viral respiratory infections, such as influenza and COVID-19. It also highlights evidence-based medicine (EBM) research, evaluating therapies and prevention strategies and participating in the formulation of clinical practice guidelines, as part of CIBERES and the European Society for Clinical Microbiology and Infections. CRIPS also develops epidemiological studies focused on risk and prognostic factors for multi-resistant pathogens, validation of ventilator-associated events in ventilated adult and pediatric patients, incorporating artificial intelligence techniques.
